“This is a transitional program. This is somewhere between your old life, and your new one.”
Who We Are:
New media and digital technologies are revolutionizing society, and a changing economy is demanding more advanced knowledge and skills from its workforce. With 50 years of experience as a leader in broadcast journalism and media communications, CPBN offers a private vocational training school for adults, known as the Institute for Advanced Media (IAM). While the school is open to all professionals, scholarships are available to veterans, their spouses and family caregivers looking for a new career in media arts.
What We Do:
IAM takes the “whole person” approach by providing students with the tools to succeed and instructors who are eager to teach. Whether this is the initial exposure to Adobe software or a veteran of the industry refreshing his or her skills, students are the priority and our small class size reflects that.
Courses are semester based and are held Monday through Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Students also have the option to earn the Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) certification in Photoshop and/or Premiere Pro as well as a Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) certification.
Additional Support Provided:
• Career Services: Provides professional development seminars on crafting a strong resume, personal branding, and interviewing skills, as well as meetings by appointment to discuss individual career goals.
For veterans, their spouses, and caregivers, IAM offers the Veterans Vocational Training Program (VVTP). The program is focused on teaching digital media and design, video production and editing and commercially applied storytelling, with a long-term goal of helping veterans transition to civilian life after military service.
