We welcome Scout troops to the Learning Lab to produce their own episodes of ScouTV.
What is ScouTV?
ScouTV Interactive is an educational outreach program for Girl and Boy Scouts to earn badges in communications, journalism, digital arts and entertainment fields.
With ScouTV, scouts ages 7 and older gain hands-on experience in filming, directing, and producing newscasts. These productions are filmed by the scouts in a real news studio at the CPBN Learning Lab with help from Scout Leaders, parents, and the Learning Lab staff.
When can scouts come to the Learning Lab?
ScouTV is available to about 12 troops per year with up to two slots available per month. Sign up below for more information.
- Scouting groups must be accompanied by a Scout Troop Leader and one parent/guardian per child.
- ScouTV has hands-on jobs for 7 scouts per group. Larger groups may need to set up two visits (this does not against yearly slots). Due to the unique nature of ScouTV, the Learning Lab is unable to accommodate more than 8 scouts per group (siblings and guardians do not count against a group’s scout number).
- Scouts must be prepared, having completed their ScouTV educational packet before their ScouTV experience.
